History

The modular mezzanine is one of Espace Loggia’s long-standing best-sellers. Drawing on the brand’s expertise in the creation of two-storey mezzanines, architectural and custom projects, it introduces the concept of the adult mezzanine to France.
The idea was to respond to the housing crisis by offering a space-saving solution using the entire volume of a room, with day areas created under the mezzanine and a night area created on the mezzanine.
Its success is based on attention to detail and quality of design.

A product designed to last

The modular mezzanine is a durable product by nature, made from noble, robust materials such as solid Landes pine or Limousin oak. It is designed to be disassembled and reassembled endlessly, thanks to screwless assemblies with threaded rods and pre-drilled holes, to evolve throughout the life of its owners.

Nothing is fixed, everything changes

The strength of the modular mezzanine is its scalability. It can be adjusted over time in height, width and length, thanks to a kit for raising or widening the bed.
It also offers different types of access, from a simple miller’s ladder to a traditional staircase, just as it did when it was first launched.

Originally offered with a lower living room layout and futon sofa, it has expanded its uses over time, to include a dining room or office layout as desired. Throughout its 40 years of existence, the modular mezzanine has always offered fertile ground for innovation and experimentation, as shown by the photo of a model with a Plexiglas-panelled closet. Or that of an over-basement version, born in the 2000s with the arrival of Matali Crasset’s children’s range.

Colors introduced in the 80s

Initially made of natural untreated wood, the modular system switched to color in the 1980s, and is now presented in a range of 20 colors and 3 finishes.

Safety standards

By democratizing the mezzanine concept in France, Espace Loggia has become a pioneer in mezzanine bed safety standards.

As early as the 1980s, the brand took part in drafting the standard for mezzanine beds with the members of the NF D 62-100-1 standardization committee. Since then, the brand has constantly reinforced the safety of its products, which are available in France and Switzerland. Gradually, the number of guardrails has increased, with first one, then two and finally the addition of two intermediate guardrails.
